Jefferson County is called the Keystone County of Florida. It physically borders Georgia to the north, Florida to the East and West, and the Florida Gulf Coast to the South. No other county in Florida can claim this distinction. " Was created in 1827. It was named for Thomas Jefferson, third President of the United States of America."
